Improvement in skin quality is an intrinsic part of any effort of facial rejuvenation. We have been using the Obagi Protocols ™ as a means to achieve these goals. It is a structured sequence of skin preparation centred on the retinoic acid as main compound. The group of products used together with the Retinova™ cream are assisting in cleaning and conditioning the skin.
This approach involves a minimum of 6 weeks of treatment. This corresponds to the time it takes for the skin to renew itself. In patients requiring more significant repair of skin discoloration (ex- after acne) a longer period of treatment mat be necessary. After the preparation phase the skin is not just better looking but better prepared for more aggressive treatments such a chemical peel or laser resurfacing.
